Technology Thrillers
Douglas L. Perry
 Lost in the Sky
The public felt safe when the FAA installed the perfect Air Traffic Computer, but now Larry finds himself on a flight going the wrong way without enough fuel to get there.

This story follows a sequence of events that lead to rash decisions by aviation leaders to install computerized flight control systems to prevent further terrorism in the skies. A software bug creeps into the system that causes planes to go astray. Larry thinks he's flying from LA to Denver, but realizes the plane is off course 1000 miles west of LA over the Pacific Ocean. Larry has to use all his technology knowledge and flying skills to turn the plane around and get it safely back on the ground.
